This was supposed to be a shorter, easy day, but I ran into Sasha and Ted on the trails and they took me out a little farther. I was really glad to meet those guys - I've been lonely on the trails in the early mornings. They also introduced me to the blog, and I'm excited to get to know the rest of you. I was impressed with the dedication and attitude they bring to their training, although I probably bombarded them with too many questions. It's encouraging to find other people who have the same drive and love for the sport that you do.

This week I'm shooting for 45 miles, up from last week's 40. I have about 250 miles under my belt so far, not much really, but a start. I'm working my way up to 80 miles/week and hoping to see the gains of the higher mileage (the most I've previously done was 60).

Welcome to the blog! With the times you have, you should be able to make a college team easy enough. It might not be one of the top shools in the country, but I had a fun, successful career at a small Div. I school with only mediocre times. Plus, your times will definitely improve with consistent training and feedback from very knowledgable people here on the blog.

Welcome to the blog...if you run with Ted and Sasha, be ready for some fast runs and big improvements in your running.

Welcome to the blog! I think Sasha and Ted are happy to field questions and help all of us improve. That is what this blog is all about. I assume you are going to UVU or BYU, what are you studying?

Welcome to the blog! If you ever have the chance to walk on a college team, GO FOR IT! It's never too late.

Glad to see you joined the blog. You never know if you train hard this next year you may be able to try out for the XC team in the fall as long as you have eligibility left. If not you can at least continue your passion for the sport and with your previous times you can do some damage in the longer stuff on the roads as well. It was good to meet and talk with you this morning. It is always nice to find others that love the sport and are looking to get better. Hopefully we will see you on the trails some more and you can join us every once in awhile.
